As we learned just after the Oscars, Steven Tyler has a new-ish young girlfriend. Tyler is currently 67 years old, and he’ll be 68 next weekend. His new girlfriend, Aimee Ann Preston, is only 28 years old. And she’s his personal assistant! Like, that’s how they met – she was his PA, and she’s still working as his PA even though they’re dating now. Page Six says they’ve already taken the next step and they’re living together now too.
Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler, 67, has moved in with his much younger personal assistant, Aimee Ann Preston, 28, in LA and Nashville, Tenn., where he’s been working on his solo country album. Sources tell us Preston, who is 10 years younger than Tyler’s daughter Liv, used to be Victoria Beckham’s assistant, but was let go — perhaps because she got too “flirty” with the designer’s soccer-stud husband, David. Preston also reportedly worked for Donald Trump’s ex Marla Maples and singer Christina Aguilera.
Tyler and Preston were looking close as far back as 2014 when they were spotted on a motorcycle ride in Hawaii, and we’re told things are going well despite the nearly 40-year age gap. An insider close to the “Crazy” singer says despite their love affair, they still maintain a professional relationship.
“I never see them holding hands or anything of that nature when I’m around them,” says the source. “She’s always with him and always making sure his car is ready. They’re never affectionate. I was at an event with them and she was so on it. People are always wondering [about them] and now it’s kind of finally out in the open. I think at some point, because she is always with him and does live with him, it’s like, ‘OK, it’s more than just a personal assistant.’ They’re out together all of the time. She doesn’t leave his side.”
In 2011, Tyler was engaged to another youngster, then-38-year-old Erin Brady, but they called things off in 2013. Later that year, the former “American Idol” judge was reportedly spotted making out with then-22-year-old “Hunger Games” actress Leven Rambin. Tyler was last married to Warhol associate Cyrinda Foxe, with whom he had a daughter, Mia. He was also wed to Teresa Barrick, with whom he has daughter Chelsea Anna Tallarico and son Taj Monroe Tallarico. Liv is from his relationship with model Bebe Buell.
It seems like most rock stars of that generation have a similar sort of background – like, multiple marriages and divorces, kids scattered around, various messy situations. What I’ve always sort of appreciated about Tyler is that he seems to have a genuinely great relationship with all of his kids (and grandkids), and my guess is that Mia, Liv and his other kids are totally fine with their dad having a 28-year-old girlfriend. If anything, Aimee sounds like she’s his full-time handler and that she keeps him focused and working, you know? I’m not saying I’m completely okay with a 40-year age difference, I’m just saying that in this particular case, it seems to be working for both of them, so… whatever, God bless. Personally, I think this is different from the Steven Bauer situation because Tyler didn’t get with Aimee when she was 18 years old.
