I’ve heard that you should never trash talk your ex in a way that could jeopardize his job, because you’re going to need to collect child support and alimony and it’s in your best interest to keep the guy employed. It looks like Brandi Glanville learned that the hard way. Last week we heard her talk to E! Online about how she first suspected her then-husband, Eddie Cibrian, was having an affair with co-star LeAnn Rimes, and how she consoled LeAnn’s then-husband, Dean Sheremet, when they learned the news. Brandi also claimed that Eddie pressured her to get pregnant with their second child. Eddie then issued a bland PR-type statement in response in which he said he was sorry and asked for privacy.
To be fair to Brandi, she wasn’t just coming up with this out of the blue and was responding to a cease and desist sent to her by Rimes followed by Rimes’ self righteous statement to People admitting she hurt people and was selfish but claiming she doesn’t “regret the outcome.” The end justifies the means according to LeAnn. I wonder how she’ll feel about that now that her man is unemployed. EW’s Michael Ausiello reports that Eddie’s contract on CSI: Miami has not been renewed. The timing is interesting considering that it’s been less than a week since the public drama with his ex.
Another long-running CBS procedural is downsizing: Sources confirm that CSI: Miami has released Eddie Cibrian (Cardoza) from his contract.
A CBS rep declined to comment, but a source close to the show confirms that Cibrian’s contract option has not been picked up. The actor joined Miami last season — in large part to fill the void left by original castmember Adam Rodriguez (Delko). But with Rodriguez returning full time this fall, producers decided to put the focus back on the original, core team.
The news comes just one day after CBS’ Criminal Minds announced the departure of series regular A.J. Cook.
If you’re interested in how Cibrian’s character Cardoza exits CSI: Miami, you can read this extreme spoiler on E! Online. My mom watches CSI: Miami and she says she’ll miss Cibrian because he’s the best to look at among the men on the show. Apparently he’s a forensic detective and is the hottest among the male cast, according to my mom. I checked out the cast bios and both Adam Rodriguez (Delko) and Jonathan Togo (Ryan Wolfe) are easy on the eyes, although they’re younger-looking guys so I see why my mom favors Cibrian.
Cibrian doesn’t have anything else lined up, according to his IMDB profile, so it’s a good thing he has a rich girlfriend to fall back on. I can only hope that their relationship dynamic changes dramatically once Cibrian is unemployed and moping around the house. Maybe he should convince her to marry him without a prenup. She’s stupid enough to fall for it, and he’ll get some on the side the minute they start to inevitably have problems. LeAnn might not regret the outcome at this point, but as Brandi learned that can change quickly when you’re married to a cheater.
