Christopher Meloni is a beefcake. A 61-year-old beefcake with an ass that won’t quit. Meloni is back in the Law & Order universe, and in recent years, he’s been giving a lot of interviews about his body, his workouts and how he’s totally fine with his Zaddy status. In one memorable interview, Meloni described his home gym and how he loves to exercise naked, sweaty and without curtains. So… obviously, Peloton had to get involved. Peloton isn’t just creepy “husbands should buy their slender wives a surprise Peloton bike for two grand” commercials. Peloton is getting into the Naked Meloni business!
OK, so when I first saw this, I was like “wow, Peloton hired a new ad firm.” Peloton went from the creepily earnest “anxious wife works out all the time and films it for her husband” ad to this ad, which is wry and funny. It reminded me of the fact that Ryan Reynolds – who must have been an ad man in his former life – piggy-bagged onto the old Peloton ad by using the same actress to sell his Aviation Gin. As it turns out, Peloton DID hire Ryan Reynolds!! Ryan has an advertising firm and they’re working with Peloton to create these kinds of hip, funny commercials which will go viral for the right reasons. Anyway, Meloni looks amazing and his bare ass will probably get a lot of people to sign up for the Peloton app. I friggin’ love that they hired the same Law & Order voiceover guy at the end too. Brilliant.
